Educational trust--Re-registration--Time limit

Query

We have Educational Trust and having exemption from Income Tax.

We have failed to re-register under section 12AB/10(23C) of the Income Tax Act in time as per new amendment law as on 01-06-2020.

IT Department has disallowed tax exemption for the A.Y. 2021-22.

Now we have applied for registration.

Please advise how to overcome problem.

We understand that your trust was registered under section 12A/12AA/12AB or section 10(23C)(vi) earlier under old regime.
